About
Attorney Aleea Costilla is an associate attorney at The Law Office of Derek S. Ritchie, PLLC, where she focuses exclusively on family law. She combines compassion with results-driven advocacy, guiding clients through difficult family matters with strategy, clarity, and determination.
A proud Brownsville native, Aleea graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary’s University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science before earning her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2024. While in law school, she served first as a staff writer and later as an associate editor for The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice. As a staff writer, her article was selected for publication—an honor awarded to only six students out of more than thirty. She also gained hands-on experience as a student attorney in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, where she represented vulnerable clients in life-changing cases.
At The Law Office of Derek S. Ritchie, PLLC, Aleea represents clients in divorce, custody disputes, SAPCR matters, and child support. She has successfully guided clients through mediations, temporary orders hearings, and final hearings. Clients value her approachable, supportive demeanor, while also recognizing her ability to balance compassion with assertive advocacy when it matters most.
Aleea is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. She is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
Outside of the courtroom, Aleea enjoys taking her dog, Miley, for walks, fishing with her fiancé, Thomas, and cheering for the Texas Longhorns during football season.
